The Magus Effect

You may have seen the video of How Ridiculous dropping basketballs of a dam but how do they get the ball to fly so far. They do it by using something called the magus effect.

The magus effect is where an object with spin moves or changes direction mid flight. It does this because the air currents on one side of the object a flowing against the rotation and on the other side it is the opposite. The air currents on the other side flow with spinning rotation causing it to spin.

Football players like Lionel Messi use this to curl the ball into the goal,

Blind Man Kayaks Down The Grand Canyon

A blind man named Erik Weihenmayer has recently kayaked down the grand canyon.

Erik and another blind man kayaked down the canyon with help from a support crew feed him instructions through an air piece.

Erik has also climbed seven of the worlds highest mountains including Mt Everest. These mountains are known as seven summits.

Erik's aim is to inspire blind people to push forward and achieve the impossible.

A Strange Riddle

Recently I was searching for riddles to post on my blog and found this.

Whats 3/7 chicken, 2/3 cat, and 2/4 goat.
I pondered the answer for a while but I couldn't work it out, after all what could be 3/7 chicken, 2/3 cat and 2/4 goat. Can figure it out? The answer will be in my next blog post.
