First I look at the present to find the easiest place to rip it.
Then I rip it carefully like a legend.
Finally, I just rip it off and claim the treats.
And that's how I unwrap my presents.

Phobias
A phobia is being scared of something that does not pose any threat to you. Meanwhile, a fear is being scared of something that does pose a threat. I have a fear of enclosed spaces but only if the space is very tight. As lots of people know this is called claustrophobia. One weird phobia is a fear of Muslims called Islamophobia. There's is also Panphobia which is a fear of everything. Another one I have is a fear of Russians called Russophobia.

Cauliflower Poem
On Christmas eve there was a cauliflower,
he wanted to be in the Christmas dinner,
but Uncle Rangi said leave him out,
he's not a kina.
So then he walked out round the back,
where Te Amo Tawa was cooking some snacks,
so he asked if he could be in the dish,
but Te Amo Tawa said yeah mate you wish.
So then he treked way up the hill,
he saw the All Blacks and Sonny Bill,
then the cauliflower threw the best pass he'd seen,
so they offered him a spot on the NZ national team.

5 Water Saftey Tips

- Never swim alone

My favourite swimming spot is Tapu Creek because it is deep and there is a decent cliff to jump off.
My best summer swimming memory is catching a mean wave in Whangamata.

What If
What if toes were teeth? No one would be able to play football because people would cut other peoples feet.
What if kids had tails? They would work out with their tails and their tails would get ripped.
What if leaves were fish? No one would be hungry except for people who don't like fish.

Silverdale Primary School Cancels Prizegiving
Auckland school Silverdale Primary have canned their annual prizegiving because it was apparently not the school's job to rank students. The decision also met heat from parents after the school never bothered to consult them for their opinions. I think they should not stop prizegivings because kids who put in that extra effort will get nothing in return for it.

History Of Naan Bread
There are many stories of too where the naan originated. Some believe that is was a by-product of an experiment involving newly invented yeast from Egypt. But the most popular story is that it was made by the Mughals and the Persians based on the fact that the word naan originates from the Persian word for food. In about the 1520's the naan became extremely popular with the rich and was reportedly enjoyed as a delicacy by the Indian royalty. Nowadays the naan is popular in many countries and it has even entered the Guinness World Records books twice for worlds largest naan measuring 4.96 by 1.26m and also for a team of five making 640 naans in one hour.

One of the workshops I went to was a Harry Potter Kahoot which I knew nothing about so I came last since I was just guessing the whole time.
Another workshop I went to was a Kahoot about cartoons which I won. I also did a Kahoot about the Fiordlands.

Football Game Review
Equipment you will need A Ball, a goal, or two of something eg: shoes, trees or sweatshirts.
The Rules: Kick the ball into the goal to score a point, the ball must fully cross over the goal line.
No handling the ball. To gain possession of the ball you must make contact with the ball and not the other player. When a team kicks the ball out of the field of play the opposite team will receive a throw-in.
This game is very fun because it is an intelligent sport and you can score a point in many ways from anywhere on the field. I also like it because you can play it almost anywhere as long as you have something to use as goals and a ball.
I would rate this game 4.5/5 and the only thing stopping it from getting a 5/5 is that diving cheat Neymar rolling around on the ground like someone had just triggered his epilepsy.

Charlie Makes His NIFA League Debut
Charlie has made his NIFA debut with a goal and lots of megs. After the Frogs team forfeited the match due to limited amounts of players it was time for beasty boy Charlie to make his NIFA debut. He got an early meg on a Paeroa player but the best was yet to come. Midway into the second half Charlie made a run to the edge of the box and smashed the ball past the goalkeeper. We are hoping to see more brilliant performances like this one in the near future.

Term 2 Week 7 Reflection
This week I got more Mangahigh done by getting to gold medals and I am working towards two more. I am looking forward to training this Thursday and my game on Saturday. My favourite part of this week was researching for my IE about South Korea because it is different from the rest of my learning. The most exciting part of my week was going to indoor soccer with my dad and watching him play.

Ngatea Is Getting Rid Of Plastic Bags
Ngatea is becoming the first town in New Zealand to be plastic bag free. The pharmacy, the bookshop, the post office, the art gallery, the petrol station, Hammer Hardware, Subway, and Hauraki Takeaways are all joining the trend of going plastic bag free. The replacement for plastic bags is recycled fabric bags called "Boomerang Bags," where you grab some to put your groceries in and then bring them back or use them for your next shop. I think it is a great idea to ditch plastic bags because it will lower ocean pollution levels by a whole lot.

Term 2 Week 6 Reflection
This week was shorter because we had Monday off which I enjoyed because I got to catch up on some sleep I missed last Sunday. My favourite part of the week was football training because I was skilling everyone. My happiest part of the week was when I finally landed an around the world freestyle juggling trick. The thing I am most looking forward to is my game tomorrow against Thames because my friend plays for that team and I want to nutmeg him. This week has been fun but slightly boring at the same time I think next week will be less boring though.

3 Places I Would Like To Visit
- Liverpool/Anfield, the reason I would like to go to Liverpool is that Liverpool FC is my favourite football club and Liverpool is also a cool city. If I did go to Liverpool I would definitely take a tour of Anfield before going to a Liverpool game later on. I would also watch another game in a pub with a group of middle-aged Englishman getting drunk on Monteiths just for fun.
- Amsterdam, the reason I would like to visit Amsterdam is that I want to learn some football skills from the locals and visit a football court. I would also pop a manu in the canals even though they are very dirty. If I did go there I would do all these things.
- Rio De Janeiro, the reason I would like to go there is to learn lots of new football skills and then come home to New Zealand and destroy everyone. While I'm there I will go to some samba pitches, visit the street markets and climb up to the statue of Jesus.

Dear Ministry of Education, I would like to formally write to you to address the problem of you removing Geography from the year 7-8 curriculum.
If you remove Geography from the school curriculum people may not know the difference between Slovenia and Slovakia and buy a plane ticket to Slovakia to only realise it is Slovenia and you are 452 kilometres from where you are meant to be.
Recently I asked my friend Dylan what the country directly above the USA was and he said Russia. If you remove geography from the curriculum people like him's geographical knowledge will get even worse. Imagine how much of an ignominy it would be if in 20 or so years our very own Prime Minister thinks China is a South American Country because he or she did not learn geography in school.
So please, do not cut geography from the NZ year 7-8 curriculum.
Kind Regards, Charlie O'Neill

Leadership Poem
Being a leader is really fun,
because you can help everyone.
You can help our whole nation,
from starvation.
You can help people who are not strong,
and tell them if they are wrong.
You can ride a broomstick like Harry Potter,
do some spells hella lotta.
because you can help everyone.

You can help people who are not strong,

Definition Of Leadership
The definition of leadership is being a person who leads other people to be better versions of themselves. A leader is also someone people will follow because they think what the other person is doing is good.

How I take The Lead In My Learning?
I take the lead in my learning by making sure that all my blog posts have been written with perfect grammar and punctuation. I also have taken the lead in my learning by completing a film task set by Mr Singh at a very short notice. Finally, I have taken the lead in my learning by deciding to complete a whole tonne of blog posts in one day to catch up on the ones I haven't done.
5 Key Leadership Words In Te Reo
Matatoa - Courage, to be a fearless unafraid leader and warrior.
Rautaki - Strategic Intelligence

5 Great Leaders
Jurgen Klopp, Jurgen Klopp is the manager of Liverpool FC in the Premier League. Klopp quit his coaching role with Borussia Dortmund to lead Liverpool to their first Champions League Final since the 2006/07 season.
Sir John Key, Sir John Key was the Priminister of New Zealand from 2008 to 2016. That makes 8 years of being the Priminister of New Zealand so he kind of deserves the title of Sir John Key.
Nelson Mandela, Nelson Mandela eventually became the President Of South Africa after being labelled a terrorist and held in the notorious prison of Robben Island.
Mahatma Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi fought peacefully against the British Government for years and eventually lead the Indian people to Independence from the British Government.
Maui, Maui is my Uncle and he fished up the North Island of New Zealand he also has a cool moko tattoo.

Leadership Quote
This is a quote from our leadership week that I like the sound of, Be The Leader You Would Follow. I like it because to be a leader people need to follow what you do and say and if no ones folllowing you your'e not a leader.

Term 2 Week 3
This week was quite fun because I did not have to do much actual schoolwork because it was leadership week. My favourite part of this week was NYLD because I got to listen to some cool speakers and music. My favourite speaker was Riley Hathaway because she had a cool story about how a lot of people doing a little can make a lot of difference. My second favourite part of the week was doing some Korean Writing art as a draft for an art project.

If My Pet Had A Super Power
If my pet had a superpower it would be the ability to create force fields. The reason I would want my cat to be able to create force fields is that he would be able to guard his food against the other cats in the hood. He would also use a force field to protect himself when he jumps from high places. It would also be cool having a cat with superpowers.

Term 2 Week 1 Reflection
This has felt shorter because of the learning blocks being shorter but that meant that our now three play breaks were short too, a bit too short for me.
This morning was very frosty so I got quite cold on my walk to school.
I enjoyed being allowed to play Basketball in the hall in our break times even though I am not very good at it.
It was really funny on Thursday lunch when Dylan slid across the hall floor on his socks and got the ball off Daniel.
The most fun part of the week was when I got stuck in a tunnel in the Moana space made out of wooden crates.
The most interesting part of my week was going to the E-Pro 8 challenge at Parawai school where we had to solve lots of different problems like how to make lights flash on a time delay. It was also funny looking at the judge's forehead because it was so shiny. We ended up finishing sixth.
This is what the judge's forehead looked like

I think this is a crocodile because a crocodile is a reptile and the picture looks like one.
5. Waru
Because Waru means eight in Maori and spiders have eight eyes so it is a spider.
