FIFA World Ranking Analysed

The FIFA world rankings have taken some interesting turns recently. With 2014 World Cup champions Germany taking first place with Brazil and Argentina respectively taking up the 2nd and 3rd positions. Next, in 4th comes Portugal which was kind of a surprise to me. To be honest they did win the Euros last year and have Ronaldo playing for them but other than that they haven't won much in a long time.
Next, comes the biggest shock of all. Switzerland has jumped into 5th place!!!! What did Xherdan Shaqiri do to come 5th?!?!? I checked out their team squad and the only player other than Shaqiri was Lichsteiner, so how did they get into 5th?!?!?!? Something else that surprised me was that France and Italy are in 9th and 12th which surprising because they are such great teams.
