On Wednesday this week, the whole Marama syndicate traveled to Wahi beach to take part in a Beach Ed day. The first things they taught us were the ten rules of the beach. Some of them included if in doubt stay out and never swim alone. Next, they taught us how to spot rips before giving us a tour of the lifeguard tower where they showed us the binoculars and the radio. We also got to sit in one of the IRB boats which was fun. Then we played games like seaweed and relays. Finally, we had a swim in the water where we learned how to wade through the water. My Favourite part of the day was relays as I am really good at running on sand.
The three key things I learn were,
- How to spot rips
- How to sit in an IRB if you are being rescued
- What happens inside the tower
Very Cool :-)
